### Required documents

- PKK number (profile kandydata na kierowcę)
- photo 35×45 mm
- Proof of residence in Poland and lawful stay

### At a glance (Category B)
For passenger cars (category B), the path is: medical certificate → create PKK (Profil Kandydata na Kierowcę) → complete a driving course (minimum 30 hours theory + 30 hours practice; hours are 45 minutes) → pass state exams at WORD (theory + practical) → pay the issuance fee and collect your license.

### Medical check
Typical cost 200–300 PLN. The doctor checks vision, hearing, and general health. For category B, the certificate is usually without a periodic end date unless the doctor sets restrictions.

### Age and eligibility
- Minimum age for category B is 18; you can start training at 17 years and 9 months with written consent from a parent/guardian.
- You must have normal residence in Poland (typically at least 185 days per year) or be studying in Poland for at least 6 months.
- Foreigners can apply with proof of lawful stay (e.g., residence permit/visa) and address in Poland.

### PKK essentials
PKK is a unique candidate number issued by your county/city office (Starostwo/Urząd Miasta). You need it before starting the course or booking exams.
Bring: ID/passport, 35×45 mm photo, medical certificate, proof of residence/legal stay, and PESEL if you have one. PKK is often issued the same day or within a few days.

### Driving school
Category B minimums: 30 hours theory + 30 hours practice (each “hour” is 45 minutes). Many schools offer e-learning for theory. Expect an internal exam before they open your PKK for state exams.

### Exams and fees (Category B)
- Theory exam: 32 questions, up to 74 points, pass threshold 68 points, time approx. 25 minutes.
- Practical exam: vehicle check + maneuvers + city driving; duration typically 25–40 minutes.
- Fees (typical): theory 30 PLN; practical 140 PLN; license issuance 100.50 PLN. Pay per your WORD/office instructions.
- You can retake failed parts; each attempt requires a new fee.

### Language options
The theory exam is available in Polish and, in many WORD centers, in English. Other languages may be possible with a sworn interpreter arranged in advance (extra cost). For the practical exam, a sworn interpreter can usually accompany you if booked ahead (extra cost).

### Timelines
After passing exams and paying the issuance fee, card production usually takes about 1–2 weeks. You can track status online (see links).
