### common mistakes
**Choosing only top schools**
Add realistic options to secure a place; you can change later through supplemental recruitment. Include backup choices.

---
**Missing deadlines**
Follow the recruitment schedule carefully, including medical check deadlines for vocational profiles. Applications accepted October 1 to August 1.

---
**Ignoring matura requirements**
In liceum/technikum select exam subjects early to attend preparatory classes. Plan your extended-level subjects carefully.

---
**Overlooking vocational medical checks**
Some profiles require a doctor's certificate—book appointments promptly. Required before enrollment in certain vocational programs.

---
**Not preparing documents**
Get translations of all certificates and records. Sworn translations often required. Start early as translation takes time.

---
**Not checking admission criteria**
Some schools require interviews or entrance tests. Foreign children must meet same criteria as Polish children for specialized schools.
